Inspiration for your bathroom

Looking for inspiration for planning or renovating your bathroom? Get inspired by the various styles and trends in bathroom design.

Scandinavian bathroom

Scandinavian bathrooms are dominated by light colours, especially white or cream complemented by grey and black. The emphasis is on natural materials (e.g. light wood), and minimalism and clean lines take precedence over ornamentation. Some prefer a modern take on the Scandinavian style, while others are drawn more to the vintage-inspired current.

Natural-style bathroom

A natural look is given to a bathroom above all by materials such as wood, stone or bamboo, as well as accessories in the form of straw and wicker baskets. The atmosphere is completed by plenty of living plants. Thanks to the materials and colours used, a bathroom in this style feels warm and cosy.

Retro or vintage bathroom

Many people perceive retro and vintage as synonyms. For others, vintage means genuinely old pieces and retro "only" stylish replicas combining a period look with current trends. Some associate "retro" exclusively with the eighties, others with the charm of the thirties. However you see it, bathrooms furnished "in the spirit of the old days" are dominated by freestanding bathtubs on legs, complemented by stylish taps, while robust cast-iron radiators provide thermal comfort. The walls are not covered with tiling from floor to ceiling, as is common in contemporary bathrooms, but the upper half is finished with plaster or completely replaced by wooden panelling or wallpaper.

Bathroom in the Provence style

The Provence style is romance inspired by the French countryside. This style is typified by the use of stone, exposed brick and wood, while wallpaper or tiling can liven up the walls. The interior is furnished with rustic furniture in white, cream or grey, often with a patina effect. The colours of the Provence landscape, such as purple, pink, light blue or green, are used as accent colours. Floral patterns are also a must. The overall effect is completed by a multitude of stylish and vintage accessories, among which lanterns and candlesticks, cut and dried flowers, wicker baskets and large mirrors in metal or wooden frames must not be missing. So for relaxation in a romantic setting, a bathroom furnished in the Provence style is just the thing.

Modern minimalist bathroom

Are modern style and minimalism close to your heart? Then be sparing with colours in the bathroom, choose mainly black, white and grey without lots of accessories. What you take away in ornamentation, add in quality. If you choose luxurious fittings with simple shapes and clean lines, the bathroom will be beautiful in its own right. A current trend in minimalist bathrooms is large-format tiles often laid right next to each other, so that the joints are not visible at first glance.

A stylish bathroom without distracting elements

Do you want a stylish bathroom without distracting elements? Invisible access panels under tiling or access panels under paint will help you discreetly conceal the entrance to unsightly service and inspection areas. Just choose according to how your bathroom wall surfaces will be finished. If you have to place the access panel in a shower enclosure, choose the waterproof variant.
