Bathroom accessories: Perfect every detail of your bathroom

The details matter. All the more so if you want a stylish and functional home in which you feel good in every respect. Start with the bathroom, for instance, where you can feel noticeably more comfortable during your daily rituals. It takes very little.

It's not true that the final impression of a bathroom depends on the wall and floor tiles. Well, not only on them. You can also work magic with accessories, which take the overall look up another level. They are also ideal in the case of low-cost renovations or improvements, when a few stylish pieces are all you need to breathe new energy into the bathroom, and you don't have to invest in a complex and costly replacement of tiling or sanitaryware. Michaela from the bathroom furniture section at Biano.cz will help with that; she has prepared the following tips for you.

A unified concept is the foundation

There is nothing worse than having a mismatched interior without the slightest thought for the unity of the space. Then it can happen that you start getting lost in a flood of colours, accessories and an excessive combination of various styles. Of course, it's up to everyone in which kind of interior they feel comfortable. But if you unify the basic elements and clarify the style you want for the room, you'll breathe more easily. Besides the style, you should also coordinate the shapes. For unity, consider whether you'll prefer round or angular elements. Angular washbasins look great in combination with angular taps, a shower enclosure or the shape of the toilet. Every detail matters. And although not everyone may notice it straight away, rest assured that without these details the whole will feel distracting.

Colourfulness vs. cream tones

In general, it is much easier to combine accessories in bathrooms with softer and light cream colours. With more vivid bathrooms, however, be cautious. For those it will be enough to unify the accessories into one, at most two colours. So choose the shower curtain, towels, toothbrush cups, soap dispensers, the bin or the toilet-paper holder in a unified style, ideally selecting pieces from a single set. You'll save both time and money.

You can't go wrong with natural materials

You'll achieve a fresh look for the bathroom with natural materials. It's long been untrue that wood should give the bathroom a wide berth – quite the opposite. The number-one material for naturally styled bathrooms is bamboo. It is a versatile material that is hard and at the same time very flexible. It doesn't succumb to moisture, so it's ideal for bathrooms, and it's also antibacterial. What's more, it is among the rapidly renewable resources. A mirror with a bamboo frame, bamboo accessories for the washbasin or bathroom cabinets with a bamboo structure will make a real splash.

For moments of relaxation

Because the bathroom should not be just a room where you flit through hectically in the morning, but one in which you can practise your evening or weekend bathing rituals, you should adapt the decorations to this too. Scented candles and oils, beside which you can relax in the bathtub, create a great feeling of well-being. Flowers, which liven up the whole room, will also have a not-insignificant effect. It's up to you whether you prefer succulents, other potted plants, or whether you go for smaller decorative vases in which you swap the flowers according to your mood. You'll also be catered for if your bathroom doesn't have daylight. Such spaces will be conquered by artificial flowers in pots, which are almost indistinguishable from the living ones.
